The Hunger Site

It's not often that I come across something on the internet that isn't a scam, or just another way to try and extract information from you so that you can get an e-mail sent to you with some content that you would prefer not to get.

However, I want to let everybody know about a web site that I have been going to for almost 3 years now. It's called The Hunger Site All you have to do is visit this site, and click on the big button that says 'click here', and your click will donate food. No login, no signup, no giving personal information, nothing.

The way it works is simple. When you go to the site, you will see various advertisements from barnes & noble, to jewelry stores. The advertisers pay the hunger site per visitor, per day. The hunger site, then in turn, donates the money. If you want details, they are all available at the site.

As an adjunct to the site, there is The Rainforest Site which does the same thing. There are a few others as well. Take a look when you get a chance.

The Zoo

It was a perfect day at the Zoo. The temperature got to about 80 degrees, and we spent all day there. Nana and Papa really enjoyed the Zoo as well. As a matter of fact they said that whenever we have visitors, this is the place that we should take them... so... if you plan on coming up. We have just the place for you. I had a chance to post the pictures that we took there so take a look when you get a chance. (NOTE: to log into ImageStation user:sturgeonguest password:sturgeon)

We're going back to Ainsworth on Saturday. My guess is that we'll have more pictures of kids covered with dirt. Maybe this time I can make it through the day without getting as sick as last time.

Mama's taking us to the zoo tomorrow

That's right... with my parents in town, we get to do all of the fun stuff. Tomorrow, I'm going to take the day off work and we are going to head to the Oregon Zoo. It should be quite fun, and as soon as I get some pics, I'll post 'em.

See Ya!

Kids love dirt

It's a fact of life. I'm not really sure why. But kids and dirt just go together.

Today we visited my parents who were camping up at Ainsworth State Park. We had a great time. I've posted some pictures here of the kids having fun in the (what else) dirt. Sure we did the requisite hiking, and cooking hot dogs (we didn't get to the s'mores portion of the evening) but it was the dirt that was the big hit. The only downside to the day was that right at the end of the day, just before we headed home I got hit by a headache followed by an upset stomach which got worse as the night wore on. Let's just say, I don't every want to see Hot Dogs, Fruit Salad, or Chips again...

By the way.. It was my brilliant idea to dress the kids in white today... Ann reminded me of it a couple times... .

Back in action

Hello all.

It has been a while since we updated the site, so I thought I would just put something up here to mark the time.

Today, I attended Drew's first public performance. It was the grand finale of his Vacation Bible School (Beautiful Savior Lutheran). Imagine if you will trying to coral maybe 100 kids between the ages of 3 and 8 for 15 minutes. Well, the instructor's pulled it off, and the kids did great. It was quite a bit of fun seeing Drew dance and sing (the dancing was apparently an option that only Drew was told about.. gee, I guess the other kids really missed out!)

My parents are visiting for a week or so. While they are here they are staying at Ainsworth State Park. It's a beautiful place, and we are headed out there tomorrow to visit.
